The Veerhuis hosts the Club of Budapest (CoB) with Anne-Marie Voorhoeve as director for CoB-NL and Henry Mentink as member. Like the CoB has the bridge as symbol the Veerhuis has his ferryboot that brings us form the old to the new world.
The Club of Budapest, an informal association of creative people in diverse fields of art, literature and the spiritual domains of culture, is dedicated to the proposition that only by changing ourselves can we change our world—and that to change ourselves we need the kind of insight and perception that art, literature and the domains of the spirit can best provide.
The Members of the Club of Budapest use their artistic creativity and spiritual insight to enhance awareness of global problems and human opportunities. They communicate their insights in word and image, in sound and motion, and through the many new media and technologies. They are recognized world leaders in their field of literary, artistic or spiritual activity; their name is assurance of insight, and their membership in the Club testimony of their dedication to our common future.
The task is to bring consciousness and love for a better world into practice. How can we translate this into daily life. Bringing dreams into practice.
Ervin Laszlo is the founder and head of the Club of Budapest, an international platform dedicated to facilitating and providing direction to a global shift toward a more just, peaceful and sustainable world. Dr. Laszlo has been an acclaimed international pianist, with six volumes of recordings to his name. He is generally recognized as the founder of systems philosophy and general evolution theory. Dr. Laszlo is an adviser to the UNESCO Director General, an ambassador of the International Delphic Council, and a member of the International Academy of Science, the World Academy of Art and Science, and the International Academy of Philosophy. He holds the highest degree in philosophy and human sciences from the Sorbonne, the University of Paris.
